Tea Time Security: Hotel Renovation Revealed
A luxury hotel on the Vegas Strip has given one of its floors a major makeover, introducing a bar and a brand-new tea lounge that are sure to impress. The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas recently revealed its revamped 23rd floor, complete with the Peacock Alley and the fresh addition of the Hard Shake bar, both designed by the renowned global architecture and design firm Rockwell Group. This renovation follows a multimillion-dollar property-wide update that was first announced back in late 2023.
The hotel’s lobby and front desk, originally located on the 23rd floor, have now been relocated to the ground floor to make space for these new features. The Peacock Alley, a signature tea lounge found in other Waldorf Astoria locations, now offers afternoon tea with two exclusive blends, small sandwiches, and scones. The lounge boasts lounge seating surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows providing incredible views of the Strip. Inspired by the majestic peacock, the centerpiece of the lounge is a feather-shaped bar complemented by custom light fixtures and a color scheme of muted blues and grays.
In place of the SkyBar, the new intimate bar and lounge called Hard Shake takes center stage, named after a unique shaking technique from Japanese bartender Kazuo Uyeda. This space is a reinvention of the former SkyBar, featuring dark stone and gold fixtures, and serving craft cocktails alongside small dishes.
Hard Shake operates on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 6 p.m. to midnight, and Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Peacock Alley offers tea service at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. from Wednesday to Sunday, with lounge seating available from 11 a.m. to midnight on Monday and Tuesday.
Over the past two years, renovations have been in progress at the 47-story, 389-room property managed by Hilton, including the lobby relocation, redesign of all guest rooms and suites, and enhancements to over 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
