Regina Hall Casts in Amazon MGM’s Judge Movie with Will Ferrell and Zac Efron

Regina Hall is joining the cast of an upcoming Amazon MGM Studios comedy film alongside Will Ferrell and Zac Efron. Directed by Nicholas Stoller, the movie, previously titled “Judgment Day,” reunites Ferrell and Stoller after their collaboration on “You’re Cordially Invited,” available on Prime Video. The film centers on a young ex-convict played by Efron who takes over an unscripted TV courtroom, holding the judge (Ferrell) hostage, believing his life was ruined by the judge’s ruling. Details about Hall’s role are still a secret but the excitement is building up.

Producing the film are Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Alex Brown for Gloria Sanchez Productions, along with Stoller for Stoller Global Solutions. Hall, known for films like the Best Man, Think Like a Man, and Scary Movie franchises, can also be seen in upcoming projects like Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” and Searchlight Pictures’ rock opera “O’Dessa.” She recently received the New York Film Critics Circle award for best actress in “Support the Girls” and her banner Rh Negative secured a first-look deal with MGM Alternative, a division of Amazon MGM Studios.

Stoller, the director, has an impressive track record with films like “Bros,” “Neighbors,” and its sequel, and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” He is known for his work in both film and television, including the Apple TV+ series “Platonic.” With this star-studded cast and an intriguing storyline, this Amazon comedy film is making big waves in the entertainment industry.
