Streaming Ratings Soar as SNL’s 50th Anniversary Special Dominates Charts

The Nielsen streaming charts for the week of Feb. 17-23 saw some strong performances from new releases and popular favorites. ‘SNL’ made its first appearance on the charts after its 50th-anniversary special garnered a huge audience, with 863 million minutes of viewing on Peacock. This placed the show in seventh place overall and third among library series. The current season, including the anniversary special, accounted for 68 percent of the total viewing.

Leading the rankings were Netflix’s ‘Zero Day’ and Prime Video’s ‘Reacher’, with 1.84 billion minutes and 1.81 billion minutes of viewing, respectively. Other hits included ‘Love Is Blind’, ‘Bluey’, and ‘Family Guy’, each scoring over a billion viewing minutes.

Further down the list, ‘Yellowjackets’ on Netflix and Paramount+ and ‘The White Lotus’ on Max made a return to the charts after their recent premieres. ‘Severance’ on Apple TV+ and ‘Paradise’ on Hulu also stayed strong in the top 10 original series rankings.

Nielsen’s streaming ratings are based on viewing on TV sets and do not include minutes watched on computers.
