“Deli Boys on Drugs: Hulu Series Packed with Action and Laughter”
“Deli Boys” on Hulu serves up a wild mix of action and laughs in this new series from Abdullah Saeed. The show follows the Dar family, who are thrown into chaos after the death of their patriarch reveals a shocking secret – he was running a cocaine trafficking operation out of their bodega in Philadelphia.
The show revolves around Baba’s sons, Mir and Raj, played by Ali Asif and Saagar Shaikh, as they navigate the dangerous world of drug trafficking. Mir, a smart and uptight business-school graduate, is forced to take over the operation with the help of his stoner brother Raj and their female assistant Lucky, played by Poorna Jagannathan.
The show features a diverse cast of Asian descent, with standout performances from characters like Mir’s fiancé Bushra, played by Zainne Saleh, and Raj’s wife Nandika, played by Amita Rao. The female roles, including Lucky and Chickie’s impulsive daughter Gigi, are particularly strong in “Deli Boys.”
The series is fast-paced and full of twists and turns, but at its core, it’s all about the laughs. From Raj’s drug-fueled antics to Mir’s quick thinking in the face of danger, the show keeps viewers on the edge of their seats while delivering plenty of humor.
With a cameo from Half Baked’s Guillermo Diaz and appearances from Chris Elliott and other talented actors, “Deli Boys” is a unique and entertaining ride through the streets of Philly. The final episode neatly sets up Season 2, leaving fans eagerly awaiting more from this eclectic and engaging series.
