Bulls Prepare for Linger Longer Invitational Before AAC Tournament – USF Athletics
The Bulls are gearing up for the Linger Longer Invitational in Greensboro, Ga this weekend, hosted by Mercer University. After finishing in eighth place at the Hayt Invitational, this is a great chance for South Florida to climb the rankings as the AAC tournament approaches, with their current position at No. 35.
Sophomore Wilhelm Ryding has been in excellent form this spring, securing two top-15 finishes at the Thomas Sharkey and Hayt Invitationals. At the Hayt Invitational, Ryding outperformed the No. 3 and No. 5 golfers in the country. His consistent performance in the middle of Coach Steve Bradley’s lineup puts the Bulls in a strong position to defend their AAC title.
The Linger Longer Invitational also presents an opportunity for Jake Peacock to break a couple of all-time program records. Peacock is on the brink of setting both the career and single-season scoring averages records, currently held by Albin Bergstrom.
Meanwhile, senior Shubham Jaglan is already the South Florida men’s golf record holder for most eagles (19) and aims to extend his program record. With three top-25 finishes this season, Jaglan’s steady play and leadership have been instrumental in the Bulls’ success.
The 16-team field at the Invitational will include notable schools like Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Ohio State, and more. Coach Steve Bradley’s lineup includes key players like Jake Peacock, Shubham Jaglan, Cooper Smith, Nino Palmquist, Wilhelm Ryding, and Matthew Joseph, with Nino Palmquist competing individually.
