Channel 5 rebrands linear and streaming platforms

Channel 5 has made some big changes, bringing together its traditional TV network and streaming platform under a new brand name: 5. This new identity officially launched yesterday, promising viewers an enhanced content lineup that will include more Nickelodeon shows to attract older kids.

The streaming platform, previously known as My5, has seen significant growth in viewership. In fact, viewing minutes were up by 53% in 2024 compared to the previous year, making it one of the fastest-growing public service broadcasters in the same period. To capitalize on this momentum, 5 has plans to incorporate more titles from Paramount’s family of brands, such as BET, CBS, and MTV, into its streaming offerings.

While shows from Milkshake! and Nick Jr. have been available on the platform for some time, Nickelodeon content is set to join later this year to cater to older children. In addition to this, 5 has introduced 15 new live channels, including a dedicated Milkshake! FAST channel to help viewers discover more programming aimed at preschoolers.

Over the coming months, the new 5 brand will roll out across all platforms where My5 is offered, including pay-TV providers, CTVs, mobile devices, and the channel5.com website. This expansion opens up new opportunities for advertisers to reach a broader and more engaged audience through data-led advertising solutions, as noted in a recent press release.
