Alex Cooper Produces New Dating Series with a Twist
Alex Cooper, known for her podcast “Call Her Daddy,” is now making a splash in the world of reality TV! On March 12, Hulu revealed that the 30-year-old host will be producing a new unscripted dating series called “Overboard for Love.” This will be Cooper’s first TV venture under Unwell Productions, part of the Unwell Network.
The show’s premise, according to Hulu, focuses on a group of “sexy singles” who will be boarding a luxury yacht with hopes of finding love. But, as the tagline suggests, gaining access to the yacht’s extravagant amenities won’t be as simple as they think. Romance, alliances, and shattered hearts are all part of the journey, with only one couple emerging victorious in the end.
Cooper will be working alongside Jeff Jenkins Productions, the team behind “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” to bring this exciting new series to life. She is set to serve as executive producer alongside her husband and Hollywood producer Matt Kaplan, as well as producers Mina Lefevre, Russell Jay-Staglik, and Jason Ehrlich, a former Bachelor producer.
In a statement about the show, Cooper expressed her excitement, saying, “This project marks a major milestone for us, perfectly reflecting our vision of creating bold, unfiltered content that pushes boundaries. We’ve designed a truly unique dating show, and I can’t wait for viewers to see what Unwell is capable of.”
Cooper launched the Unwell Network in 2023 to cater to the Gen Z audience with tailored content and later signed with SiriusXM to expand the network’s podcast offerings. The Unwell Network is part of Cooper’s media company Tending, which she founded alongside Kaplan.
