Update Firefox now to avoid potential issues with extensions and streaming sites

If you’re a Firefox user, it’s time to make sure you’re up to date. Starting March 14th, some extensions and streaming services might not work properly on older Firefox versions due to an expiring root certificate. This includes DRM needed for platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, and even impacts the security tools in Firefox if the browser isn’t updated.

Any Firefox version older than Firefox 128 or Firefox ESR 115.13 is affected. So, if you haven’t updated your Firefox since 2024 or if updates are scarce at your workplace, it’s crucial to take action.

To check your Firefox version, simply open the three-line menu, go to Help > About Firefox, and look for the version number there. If you’re running an older version, update immediately to ensure all your extensions and streaming services continue running smoothly. You can update through the About Firefox window or by downloading the latest version from Mozilla.

Don’t forget about Firefox on Android – check the version in Settings > Apps and locate Firefox in the list. Update the app through the Google Play Store if needed to stay in the clear.

Be proactive and keep your browsing experience secure by staying on top of Firefox updates.
