Amazon Prime Video Cancels Series After First Season

Amazon Prime Video decided to pull the plug on the show Cruel Intentions after just one season. The series, inspired by the cult classic movie of the same name, faced many challenges before Amazon Prime Video decided to cancel it.

Although viewership numbers were not disclosed by the streamer, critics did not have kind words for the show. Despite the efforts of Sara Goodman and Phoebe Fisher, who were the co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers of the series, it failed to make it into Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming charts.

The show featured a talented cast including actors like Sarah Catherine Hook, Zac Burgess, Savannah Lee Smith, Sara Silva, John Harlan Kim, Khobe Clarke, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Brooke Lena Johnson. The plot revolved around the elite students of Manchester College and the ruthless step-siblings, Caroline Merteuil and Lucien Belmont, who would stop at nothing to maintain their social status.

The story took a dramatic turn when a hazing incident threatened the entire Greek Life system, leading the characters to take extreme measures to protect their power and reputation. In the midst of broken hearts, tested loyalties, and shocking revelations, the show promised a modern-day royal court drama at Manchester College.
