The Righteous Gemstones: Epic Episode Review

“The Righteous Gemstones” is making a comeback, and it’s off to a jaw-dropping start. The popular TV show has returned for its fourth and final season on HBO, and fans are in for a wild ride.

This season, we’ll see the world-famous televangelist family, the Gemstones, navigate a mix of deviance, greed, and charitable work. Despite their constant squabbles, the Gemstones are tightly knit, and this season will put their bonds to the test as they try to move forward while holding onto their tumultuous past.

The season four premiere, which aired on March 9, took everyone by surprise. Instead of featuring the familiar faces of the main cast, the entire episode focused on Bradley Cooper as Elijah Gemstone. Yes, you read that right – Bradley Cooper himself made a cameo appearance and stole the show with his portrayal of Elijah.

In a departure from the usual tone of the show, this episode delved into a more serious storyline with minimal humor. It provided a fascinating glimpse into the origins of the Gemstone family’s preaching roots, going all the way back to the Civil War era.

It’s rare to see a hit TV show kick off a new season without showcasing any of its main cast members, but “Righteous Gemstones” managed to pull it off seamlessly. Despite the unconventional approach, the episode flowed smoothly and stayed true to the show’s essence.

Without giving away any spoilers, I can say that the season four premiere delivered a shocking twist that left me thoroughly entertained. Danny McBride, the show’s creator, did a fantastic job laying the groundwork for the final season. I have no doubt that the upcoming episodes will dive back into the outrageous and edgy humor that fans have come to love.
