Prime Video launches AI dubbing pilot program for licensed movies and series

Prime Video continues to expand its entertainment offerings with the launch of an AI dubbing pilot program for licensed movies and series. This new feature will allow viewers to enjoy titles that previously did not have dubbing available in select countries and territories.

For many customers, language barriers can be a hurdle when trying to enjoy content from different parts of the world. To address this issue, Prime Video is introducing AI-aided dubbing in English and Latin American Spanish for 12 selected movies and series, including popular titles like El Cid: La Leyenda, Mi Mamá Lora, and Long Lost.

Raf Soltanovich, VP of technology at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, highlighted the importance of enhancing customer experience through practical AI innovations. The AI-aided dubbing program is a collaborative effort between localization professionals and AI technology to ensure high-quality dubbing for titles that would not have been accessible otherwise.

In addition to AI dubbing, Prime Video is also introducing new features like AI Topics to help viewers discover content based on their personal interests and preferences. With a commitment to providing the best streaming experience possible, Prime Video is dedicated to offering a wide range of language options to its 200 million customers worldwide, ensuring everyone can enjoy their favorite movies and series, regardless of where they are located.
