Fantasy Hockey Week 20 Strength of Schedule and Streaming Targets (2024-25)

Looking to dominate your fantasy hockey matchup this week? Well, identifying the players who have four games on the schedule can give you an edge. That’s where our Weekly Schedule tool comes in handy!

I took that schedule and paired it with a Team Defense Score I created using important defensive stats. The idea is to see which teams and players have the best matchups this week.

Here’s how it works:

Team Defensive Ratings range from 0 to 100, with 0 indicating the best defense and 100 being the worst. The score is the total of all the Defensive Ratings the team will face this week. And the AVG Opponent is the average Defensive Ratings the team will encounter.

We want players who not only play a lot but also face easier opponents, hence focusing on the sum of the defensive ratings.

In Week 20, we’re looking at the Strength of Schedule.

New York Rangers grab the top spot this week. While most of their top players are already rostered, Will Cuylle (LW/RW – 34% Rostered) could be a sneaky pick. He’s skating with Mika Zibanejad and J.T. Miller, which bodes well for his production.

The Washington Capitals come in second with a strong schedule. Connor McMichael (C/LW – 48% Rostered) and Aliaksei Protas (C/LW – 47% Rostered) are potential options for those looking to stream. McMichael had a rough patch but has been performing better recently. Protas, on the other hand, has been a bit of an enigma but has managed to produce consistently.

The New York Islanders rank third in terms of schedule strength. Brock Nelson (C – 57% Rostered) is a top choice if available, but Kyle Palmieri (RW – 15% Rostered) is also on a hot streak. Keep an eye out for trade implications, though. If they stay put or get traded to a good situation, they could be worth the streaming risk.

Seattle Kraken come in with the fifth-best schedule. Skaters like Matty Beniers, Jaden Schwartz, and Kaapo Kakko are all available and could be solid picks. Shane Wright has been on fire lately, although some of his numbers might not be sustainable.

And don’t forget about the Chicago Blackhawks and the Anaheim Ducks, who also have favorable schedules this week. Keep an eye on Teuvo Teravainen and the duo of Leo Carson and Ryan Strome for potential streaming options with the chance to contribute this week.
