Disney+ Cancels ‘Tiana’ Series, Plans New Special

In no surprising move, Disney+ recently announced that they have put the Princess and the Frog series, Tiana, on hold. This decision comes after several attempts to make the show work, including changing up the creative team. Unfortunately, due to production costs, Tiana couldn’t quite hit the mark.

While the series is on pause, there’s a new project in the works at the animation studio. They are developing a short-form special inspired by The Princess and the Frog. This new project is in its early stages, and details are still under wraps. However, fans can expect fresh stories based on the original 2009 film. Joyce Sherri will direct the special, with Steve Anderson taking on the writing duties. Let’s see what magical new adventures they have in store for us!
