The team held a trial, with Natalie serving as the judge, Taissa as the prosecutor, and Misty as the defense. In the present day, Jeff is grappling with the idea that he and Shauna are facing some bad karma and signs them up for volunteer work to try and make amends. But the episode ends on a shocking note with Lottie being discovered dead.
Jeff’s character is evolving, as he tries to fix things and take control of his destiny amidst the chaos. He’s desperate to change his luck and is exploring the idea of karma and karmic debt. Encouraging Shauna to join him in volunteer work at Misty’s workplace leads to a tense confrontation between the two, expertly portrayed by Christina Ricci and Melanie Lynskey.
