Mindy Kaling, Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh Celebrate ‘Deli Boys’ Film

On Thursday night, Bike Shed Moto Co. in Los Angeles was transformed into a bustling convenience store for the premiere celebration of Deli Boys, a new series coming to Hulu’s Onyx Collective. The event, hosted by Hulu and The Hollywood Reporter, brought together industry members to get a sneak peek at the show.

Deli Boys follows the story of Mir and Raj Dar, played by Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh, two Pakistani American brothers who uncover their father’s criminal business empire after his sudden passing. The show, set to debut on Hulu on March 6th, also features Poorna Jagannathan as Lucky Auntie, Baba’s trusted ally, and Brian George as Ahmad, a power-hungry figure within Dar Co.

“Our mission at Onyx Collective is to empower artists to tell stories that reflect their experience and point of view,” said Onyx Collective president Tara Duncan. She expressed pride in Deli Boys creator Abdullah Saeed’s willingness to take bold risks and create an engaging show that resonates with diverse perspectives.

The night featured a red carpet, a special screening, Bollywood dancers, and a menu of cocktails and South Asian cuisine, making for a memorable and exciting event celebrating the upcoming release of Deli Boys.
