Fubo TV Achieves Record Subscribers and Revenue in 2024, Outpacing Hulu + Live TV
Fubo, the popular online service that focuses on sports, just wrapped up 2024 with some impressive numbers. They hit a record high of 1.67 million subscribers in North America and made a whopping $1.59 billion in revenue ending December 31st, 2024. This is up from 1.61 million subscribers and $1.34 billion in revenue the previous year.
Their French live TV streaming service called Molotov, which they acquired in 2021, finished the year with 362,000 subscribers, a slight dip from the 406,000 subscribers in 2023. But their revenue still saw a solid 12.1% growth from $8.4 million to $9.4 million.
Fubo managed to significantly reduce its net loss for the full year by nearly 40%, dropping down to $177.1 million from $293.1 million. Even in the fourth quarter, the net loss was slashed by 42% to $40 million from $71 million.
Early this year, Fubo announced a big $220 million deal with major media companies like Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Fox Corp. This deal involved Disney acquiring a 70% stake in Fubo, with plans to secure a $145 million loan for them in 2026. Disney also hopes to work together with Fubo’s team to create the biggest online virtual MVPD TV subscription service in North America, with a customer base of 6.2 million subscriptions.
David Gandler, Fubo’s Co-founder and CEO, shared his excitement about the future collaboration with Disney’s Hulu + Live TV. He mentioned their goal is to grow the business, enhance their sports content offerings, and bring some healthy competition to the industry.
