Paramount+ Experiences Record Subscriber Growth in Two Years
Paramount+ had a stellar quarter, adding 5.6 million subscribers thanks to the ongoing shift from traditional TV to streaming platforms. Although Paramount Global’s overall revenue fell short of expectations, the streaming segment exceeded analyst predictions with the biggest subscriber increase in two years.
Fans can look forward to a strong lineup on Paramount+ this autumn, featuring hits like Landman with Billy Bob Thornton and Demi Moore, and The Agency with Michael Fassbender. These shows, along with favorites like Yellowstone, are drawing in and keeping subscribers engaged.
In terms of financials, Paramount, which includes Pluto TV and BET+, reported a reduced adjusted loss of $286 million, showing improvement from the previous year. Co-CEOs George Cheeks, Chris McCarthy, and Robbins are optimistic about the future, citing a significant increase in DTC profitability in 2024, driven by a successful year at Paramount+.
