Bono documentary on Apple TV+ doubles as debut full-length video for Vision Pro

Apple TV+ will premiere an exciting new documentary on May 30th, featuring the iconic musician Bono. Titled “Bono: Stories of Surrender,” the film offers viewers a unique, immersive experience through both Apple TV+ and Vision Pro’s 8K Spatial Audio. This documentary will be the first full-length video available on the Vision Pro headset.

Based on Bono’s memoir, “Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story,” this film reimagines his celebrated stage show, “Stories of Surrender: An Evening of Words, Music and Some Mischief…” Directed by Andrew Dominik, known for his work on films like “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” this production promises a bold visual experience.

Apple TV+ shared that the documentary includes never-before-seen footage from Bono’s performances at New York City’s Beacon Theatre, alongside personal stories that chronicle his life as a musician, activist, and family man. Fans can look forward to seeing Bono perform U2’s iconic songs that have resonated throughout his career.

This groundbreaking release showcases Bono’s commitment to embracing new technologies and pushing boundaries to connect with his audience. The impressive production team includes RadicalMedia’s Jon Kamen and Dave Sirulnick, as well as Plan B Entertainment’s Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner. Bono himself serves as an executive producer, emphasizing his hands-on involvement in this project.

To complement the documentary’s release, an abridged paperback edition of “Bono: Stories of Surrender” will hit shelves on May 30th. The book mirrors the one-man show’s narrative arc and features a new introduction by Bono, offering fans a deeper dive into his journey.

Bono, born Paul David Hewson, has been a musical powerhouse with U2 for over 40 years, selling millions of records and receiving numerous accolades for his activism. The documentary will add to Apple TV+’s collection of original films and documentaries, further expanding its diverse content offerings.

Apple TV+ subscriptions are available for $9.99, and new customers can enjoy a seven-day free trial.
