Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 48: Man Killed, Woman Injured in Chisago City
A tragic crash in Pine County on Highway 48 has left one man dead and a woman injured. The incident occurred on a Saturday around 4:30 p.m. near Wilderness Lane in Ogema Township, east of Hinckley, according to Minnesota State Patrol.
State Patrol officials reported that Joseph Donald Peacock, 40, from Mora, was driving west on the highway when he crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle, a Ford F150. Alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the crash, and Peacock was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
Sadly, Peacock did not survive the crash, as confirmed by State Patrol. The driver of the Ford, a 62-year-old woman from Chisago City, sustained injuries but is expected to recover.
