Disney Wins 8 Screen Actors Guild Awards – Recap
Disney had a big weekend at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, snagging an impressive total of 8 awards for outstanding performances in both television and film. Shows like Only Murders in the Building and Shōgun were among the winners, taking home awards for their stellar performances.
In the film category, A Complete Unknown and A Real Pain were recognized for their excellence. A Complete Unknown, featuring Timothée Chalamet, won for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. Meanwhile, A Real Pain, which stars Kieran Culkin, took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
On the television side, Shōgun, exclusively streaming on Hulu, was a big winner with 4 awards. Among them were awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and Outstanding Performance by Male and Female Actors in a Drama Series. Only Murders in the Building, another Hulu original, also won big with 2 awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and for Male Actor in a Comedy Series.
