Rob McElhenney recalls humiliating experience on Brad Pitt and Harrison Ford film
Rob McElhenney recently opened up about a challenging experience in his early acting career. The actor, known for his role in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” shared that being cut from his first feature film, “The Devil’s Own,” was a particularly tough blow. In a recent interview, McElhenney revealed that not being informed about being cut from the film was a “terrible and humiliating” experience for him. The film, released in 1997, starred Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt, and McElhenney was just around 18 years old at the time. He expressed his disappointment at not being included in the premiere or friends and family screenings, only realizing he had been cut when he watched the movie and saw his scenes were missing.
Despite this setback, McElhenney went on to make his feature debut the following year in “A Civil Action” alongside John Travolta. While he has faced challenges in his film career, he is best known for his role in the long-running sitcom “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” which is set to return for its 17th season. Additionally, McElhenney is the star and showrunner of Mythic Quest on Apple TV and is a co-owner of the Wrexham football club with Ryan Reynolds, with whom he also stars in the docuseries Welcome to Wrexham.
It’s clear that McElhenney has faced setbacks in his career, but he has persevered and continued to find success in both acting and producing. His journey serves as a reminder that resilience and determination are key qualities in the entertainment industry.
