My main concern being that I’m really worried about the kids who are trans who don’t have the privilege I have and can’t get to a reversal or don’t have the resources to get your marker changed in the first place. It just makes me scared and all the more determined. I feel like now, more than ever, I have a responsibility and it might seem like a contradiction to some people, but I feel it more than ever to be really obvious about my transness now. And I’m really hoping to not be alone in that and really hoping everyone is taking care of themselves during all this and looking out for one another.
I also want to say I don’t give a fuck that they put an ‘M’ on my passport. It doesn’t change really anything about me or my transness. I mean, I’m not suddenly not trans. I guess a lot of the way that this shit is being handled, it almost feels like we’re all doing this performatively to benefit cis people who make these rules in the first place. So I wanted to make that clear. I just want to say trans people are beautiful. We are never going to stop existing. I’m never going to stop being trans. A letter and a passport can’t change that, and fuck this administration. And I don’t really have an answer on what to do about this, but I feel it was important to share. This is real. So yeah, fuck.”
