Severance Breaks Records as Most-Watched Show on Apple TV+

Severance has broken records on Apple TV+ and has become the most-watched series on the platform with the release of Season 2. Adam Scott stars as Mark Scout, with a talented ensemble cast including Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, John Turturro, and Michael Chernus. Since its premiere, the show’s second season has gained popularity among both critics and viewers.

Created by Dan Erickson, Severance has now claimed the title of the most-watched series in Apple TV+ history. Season 2 debuted on January 17, 2025, marking a significant milestone for the show.

In a celebratory post on Instagram, Apple TV+ shared a short clip announcing that Severance had become the number one series in the platform’s history. According to a report from Deadline, Severance Season 2 quickly rose to the 4th position on Nielsen’s Top 10 Originals chart in just three days after its release.

Apple TV+ provided insights into the show’s impressive viewership numbers, revealing that the thriller series accumulated an astonishing 589 million minutes across all episodes. The platform anticipates a further increase in these numbers with the release of the remaining episodes.

Following the launch of Season 2, Apple TV+ experienced a substantial 126 percent growth in subscribers in January 2025. Notably, Severance surpassed the highly popular series “Ted Lasso” in terms of view minutes, solidifying its position as a fan favorite on the streaming service.
