Hulu Cancels Series Adaptation of A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES

Rumors have been swirling about the Disney-produced Hulu series adaptation of the beloved A Court of Thorns and Roses books by Sarah J. Mass. Initially, the buzz was that the show was not moving forward, but it’s now confirmed that the TV series will not be happening. The project has been in development since March 2021, with the author collaborating on potential scripts with Ronald D. Moore, known for creating Outlander. However, after a lull in updates, news broke in February 2025 that the show will not be coming to Hulu.

Despite this setback, fans of the series should not lose hope. The project may find a new home once the option period with Disney ends in the summer of 2025. A Court of Thorns and Roses has a massive following, with over 13 million copies sold and being one of the most borrowed titles in US public libraries in recent years. However, it has also faced challenges, with the series being banned in several states. So while the series won’t be on Hulu, there’s still a possibility for it to find a new platform in the future. Stay tuned for any updates on the fate of this highly anticipated adaptation.
