Apple TV+ Emerges as Premier Destination for Crime Thrillers, with Its Latest Offering Poised to Impress

Apple TV+ is well-known for its sci-fi offerings like Severance, Foundation, Dark Matter, and Silo. However, the streaming service is expanding its library with top-tier crime thrillers, and the upcoming series, Dope Thief, is generating a lot of buzz.

Set to debut on Apple TV+ next month, Dope Thief has released its first trailer, which looks incredibly promising. When Apple TV+ launched in 2019, it only featured Apple originals, which limited its content selection. But over the years, Apple has beefed up its catalog with more original series and additional seasons of early hits like The Morning Show and Ted Lasso.

Apple TV+ now offers a diverse range of content, from sci-fi shows to Bill Lawrence comedies, and crime thrillers are quickly becoming a strong suit. Some of the most popular crime thrillers currently available on Apple TV+ include Black Bird, Hijack, Presumed Innocent, and Criminal Record.

The next highly anticipated crime thriller from Apple TV+ is Dope Thief, set to premiere on March 14. The show boasts an impressive creative team, with Ridley Scott serving as executive producer and directing the first episode. The series is created by Peter Craig, known for co-writing Hollywood hits like The Batman, Top Gun: Maverick, and The Town.

Based on Dennis Tafoya’s book “Dope Thief,” the series follows long-time friends who pose as DEA agents to rob a house and inadvertently stumble into a dangerous drug operation. The star-studded cast includes Brian Tyree Henry, Wagner Moura, Ving Rhames, and more.

The first two episodes of Dope Thief will be available on March 14, with a new episode released weekly through April 25. While Dope Thief offers a different tone and genre than Severance, if it lives up to the trailer’s promise, it could be the perfect follow-up for viewers after the current season of Severance ends on March 21.

For those interested in subscribing to Apple TV+, the service is available for $9.99 per month. If you’re looking to enhance your iPhone experience, consider checking out accessories like AirPods Pro 2, an AirTag battery case, a fast-charging brick, a MagSafe Car Mount, or a HomeKit smart plug.
