YouTube CBS agreement announced for Broadband TV News
YouTube has some exciting news for its subscribers! They’ve just reached an agreement with Google to include Paramount+ in their lineup of channels. This deal comes after a few days of negotiations, prompted by the upcoming expiration of the current agreement that covers channels like CBS, CBS Sports, and Nickelodeon.
In a statement on the YouTube website, they shared, “We’re happy to share that we’ve reached a deal to continue carrying Paramount channels, including CBS, CBS Sports, Nickelodeon, and more.” This means that with this agreement, YouTube TV will still offer over 100 channels and add-ons, including Paramount+ with SHOWTIME. Plus, it will bring more user choices in the future. They also thanked their subscribers for their patience during the negotiation process.
Earlier in the week, there was a bit of uncertainty as Paramount started warning customers about a potential interruption in service. However, a short-term extension was put in place on Thursday, signaling that a new deal was likely on the horizon.
It’s great to see that YouTube and Google were able to come to an agreement to provide even more content for their viewers. Cheers to more binge-watching sessions ahead!
