‘The Chosen’ to Stream on Prime Video in Amazon Agreement

Amazon has scored big by securing the streaming rights to “The Chosen” in the United States. This deal with Dallas Jenkins’ 5&2 Studios includes making Prime Video the exclusive streaming platform for this popular series that delves into the life of Jesus. Additionally, Amazon MGM Studios will distribute theatrical releases for important episodes from the final two seasons of the show. They’ve even inked a first-look deal for future series and films produced by 5&2.

Excitingly, Prime Video has greenlit a new unscripted series called “The Chosen in the Wild With Bear Grylls.” This show will follow the cast and creators of “The Chosen” as they embark on wilderness adventures with Grylls.

Vernon Sanders, the head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, shared his enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting the success of “The Chosen” in captivating audiences of all ages. Looking ahead, Amazon sees this as an opportunity to create more faith-based content for their global Prime Video audience.

The deal was facilitated by Lionsgate, who secured distribution rights to “The Chosen” back in 2023. The negotiation was handled by CAA and attorney Andrew Kramer of Willkie Farr on behalf of 5&2 Studios.

Fans can catch up on previous seasons of “The Chosen” on Prime Video, and now, all current and upcoming seasons, including the highly anticipated season five, will be exclusively available on the platform.
