Recently, Disney+ has updated the content warning once again, returning to a version of the original message: “This program is presented as originally created and may contain stereotypes or negative depictions.” While the wording may have reverted back, the intent remains the same – to provide viewers with a heads-up about potentially problematic content in a respectful and informative manner.
According to reports from Variety, this change is part of Disney’s broader Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategy, coinciding with recent events. In a memo to staff, Disney’s chief human resources officer Sonia Coleman emphasized the importance of creating a welcoming and respectful environment for employees and guests. Values such as integrity, creativity, collaboration, community, and inclusion guide the company’s actions and interactions.
