Review: Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller in Apple TV Plus Sci-Fi ‘The Gorge’
In the recent Apple TV sci-fi romance film “The Gorge,” stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller take on the roles of elite snipers assigned to guard a mysterious ravine in the Northern Hemisphere. This remote location holds a dangerous presence that even the most powerful nations can’t contain if it were to escape.
As the story unfolds, we meet Levi (Teller), a former military shooter, and J.D. (Sope Dirisu), an army veteran, who trade posts guarding the gorge. Levi is plagued by nightmares of his past missions and is filled with questions about the area, the job, and the reasons behind certain restrictions. J.D., on the other hand, is just excited to be back in civilization after a year of isolation and doesn’t have many answers to Levi’s inquiries.
The film is filled with intrigue as the actors navigate their roles as snipers and the mysteries surrounding the gorge. With Sigourney Weaver also making an appearance as a mysterious agent, the plot thickens as the characters uncover more about the ravine and their mission to protect it.
Overall, “The Gorge” builds up a captivating story but falls short in its execution, leaving viewers wanting more from the intriguing premise. Catch it on Apple TV+ starting February 14th to see Taylor-Joy and Teller in action.
