Disney+ to Add ESPN Sports Content for Australia & New Zealand Viewers in 2025

Exciting news for sports fans in Australia and New Zealand – ESPN’s sports programming is coming to Disney+ in 2025! This will be the first time ESPN is integrated into Disney+ outside of North America, following its debut in Latin America last year and addition to the US service in December 2024.

A dedicated ESPN hub on Disney+ will offer subscribers access to over 10,000 hours of live and on-demand sports content. Get ready for live broadcasts from ESPN and ESPN2, as well as fan-favorite shows like SportsCenter, The Pat McAfee Show, NBA Today, and First Take. Plus, you can enjoy replays of major events and ESPN’s award-winning 30 for 30 documentary series.

While Disney+ has been known for films, TV shows, and specials, the addition of ESPN means live sports will become a regular part of the lineup. Get set to stream major events like the NBA All-Star Weekend, the NBL Championship Series, MLB Opening Day, the NBA Finals, and the NHL Stanley Cup Final right from your device.

Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand, and Head of ESPN Asia-Pacific, shared her excitement: “We’re thrilled to bring ESPN to Disney+ for sports fans in our countries. This is a game-changer for sports on Disney+. It enhances our already diverse content offering, adds more value for subscribers, and caters to sports fans anytime, anywhere.”

ESPN has been a go-to for sports coverage in Australia for almost 30 years, covering everything from basketball to baseball. And don’t worry – ESPN’s arrival on Disney+ won’t replace existing access. You can still catch ESPN through Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV, and Sky NZ.

So get ready to cheer on your favorite teams and catch all the action with ESPN on Disney+ in 2025!
