Hulu Close to ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ Sequel Series Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar

Hulu is on the brink of ordering a pilot for a sequel series to the beloved show, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and fans are buzzing with excitement. The icing on the cake? Sarah Michelle Gellar, the original star, is in talks to make a comeback in a recurring role. The powerhouse duo, Nora and Lila Zuckerman, known for their work on shows like Poker Face and Suits, will be leading the series. And get this—Chloé Zhao, the talented Oscar-winner behind Nomadland, will also be on board for direction and executive production.

It’s worth noting that the original creator, Joss Whedon, won’t be involved in this new project. Allegations of a toxic work environment on the original series have led to his exclusion. The groundbreaking show, which first aired in 1997, had a successful seven-season run and even spawned a spinoff series, Angel. Interestingly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer began as a film with Kristy Swanson in the lead role, which Whedon also wrote.

Exciting times are ahead for fans of the Buffy universe, so stay tuned for more updates on this highly-anticipated sequel series!
