John Mulaney Roasts Meghan Markle and Prince Harry at Glamorous Netflix Event

After months of anticipation, Meghan Markle’s Netflix lifestyle show, “With Love, Meghan,” premiered its trailer to over 1.7 million views on YouTube. But surprisingly, at Netflix’s star-studded 2025 programming event, the show didn’t receive much attention. While big names like Ben Affleck and Tina Fey presented their new projects, comedian John Mulaney couldn’t resist poking fun at Meghan and Prince Harry’s content creator ambitions.

Mulaney introduced his own live talk show, “Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney,” set to launch on March 12, just a week before Meghan’s show was rescheduled due to Los Angeles wildfires. Mulaney promised a unique format with diverse guests like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Nikki Glaser, blending in music by bands like Mannequin Pussy.

With a mix of humor and honesty, Mulaney thanked Netflix for supporting his show, teasing the streaming service for their substantial deal with Meghan and Harry. Netflix signed a $100 million contract with the royals in 2020, hoping their fame would translate into engaging content. But as industry experts have noted, the results haven’t quite lived up to expectations.

Despite a hit docu-series in 2022, the couple’s other projects, like Meghan’s children’s series “Pearl” and Harry’s reality show “Polo,” faced criticism or cancellations. Even Meghan’s new show raised questions about her ability to recreate the success of her lifestyle blog, The Tig. With an uncertain track record, it remains to be seen if “With Love, Meghan” will finally be the hit Meghan and Harry need to prove their worth as content creators.
