Rare Peacock Causes Traffic Standstill in Bognor: Update

A striking peacock caused quite a commotion in Bognor when it managed to escape from a nearby campsite. This wasn’t just any peacock—it was a rare albino one, one of four that had made a run for it that day. Sian Warren and her boyfriend, Tim Smith, who volunteer for West Sussex Wildlife Protection, had just finished another rescue mission when they saw reports of the peacock’s escape on social media.

They rushed to the area but had trouble locating the peacock until Tim spotted it near a ditch. The bird was dangerously close to taking a big leap when Sian bravely swooped in to grab it. She safely returned the majestic peacock to its owners at the Langerish campsite, who were overjoyed to have it back.

Sian and Tim have been volunteering for the rescue charity for two years, juggling their full-time jobs with their passion for saving animals. Their journey started when they found a malnourished fox cub while walking their dogs a couple of years ago. Sian carried the cub in her hoody while Tim quickly contacted wildlife rescue, who arrived to collect the cub.

It goes to show that sometimes, unexpected encounters like these can lead to incredible acts of kindness and compassion towards our feathered friends.
