Disney Reaches 157 Million Monthly Active Users with Streaming Expansion
Disney continues to dominate the streaming world with over 157 million ad-supported monthly active users across Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu. The company recently announced some exciting expansions and updates at CES during its Global Tech & Data Showcase.
One of the new features Disney is rolling out is an expansion of its gamified ad format, offering users interactive experiences like polls, trivia, and games. This feature, which first debuted on Hulu in June, is now being made available through partnerships with Brightline, KERV, and Innovid.
Disney is also enhancing its Magic Words ad product, allowing brands to target consumers within scenes. This technology will soon match brands’ creative with live events, providing a more personalized advertising experience. Brands like Chipotle and T-Mobile are already testing this product, which will be available next quarter.
Additionally, Disney is introducing Disney Compass, a new ad product that gives buyers access to the company’s first-party data to analyze ad campaign performance. Partners like VideoAmp, LiveRamp, Snowflake, OMG, and Publicis’s CoreAI have already signed on to use this tool.
In the clean-room space, Disney has introduced Disney Select AI Engine, which uses machine learning to create sequential messaging for brands’ campaigns. Over 200 brands have already utilized Disney’s clean room, and more than 6,500 brands have adopted Disney’s identity and measurement tool, Bridge ID, which debuted last year.
Disney is also expanding its reach globally with the introduction of four new global audience segments—Empathetic Escapists, Reflective Explorers, Social Shapers, and Comfort Connectors. These segments will help advertisers target viewers more effectively as cross-cultural streaming continues to grow.
