Cavan Sullivan to be Featured in Apple TV+ Documentary Series
Sports documentaries have been all the rage lately, giving viewers an inside look at the emotional journey of athletes. The latest addition to the genre is Apple TV+’s upcoming docuseries, Onside: Major League Soccer. Set to premiere on Friday, Feb. 21, this eight-part series will highlight the best moments from the 2024 MLS season, both on and off the field.
One of the featured stars in the trailer for Onside is 15-year-old Philadelphia Union sensation, Cavan Sullivan. In the preview, we get a glimpse of Sullivan spending time with his parents, Heike and Brendan, who both have a strong soccer background. Heike played Division I soccer for Penn, while Brendan was an All-Ivy League selection before his professional career in the A-League.
The series’ camera crew captured Sullivan’s first-team debut at Subaru Park last July, where he made history as the youngest athlete in a major American sport league to appear in a league match. While Sullivan is set to join Manchester City in 2027 when he turns 18, his focus remains on his current team, the Union. In a recent interview with USA Today, Sullivan emphasized the importance of proving himself in the MLS before aiming for the Premier League.
Despite his young age, Sullivan has ambitious dreams, including playing in the 2026 World Cup. His dedication and talent have already put him in the spotlight, and his story on Onside is sure to introduce him to even more fans. With his determination and passion for the game, Sullivan is a rising star to watch on and off the field.
