This is the first time Disney has given us a peek into how many people are watching ad-supported content on platforms like Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. In fact, 112 million of those users are right here in the US.

According to CNBC, this figure represents an average count over the past six months. It highlights the growing importance of advertising as a key factor driving profitability for streaming services. Disney noted that in the third quarter, 37% of Disney+ subscribers in the US were signed up for the ad-supported plan, and a whopping 60% of all new subscribers were opting for the ad-supported option.

Also, Disney mentioned that there is currently no standard method for measuring global streaming advertising audience size.
