2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards Nominations Announcement
The nominations for the 31st annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards were announced on the morning of Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Due to the unfortunate fires in the greater Los Angeles area, the initial plans to stream the nominations live were canceled, but you can find the list of nominees online.
The competition is heating up as ‘Emilia Perez,’ ‘Wicked,’ ‘A Complete Unknown,’ and more earn multiple nominations for the SAG Awards. ‘Emilia Perez,’ a big winner at the Golden Globes, received four nominations, including Best Ensemble and Best Female Lead Performance for Karla Sofia Garcon.
On the other hand, the musical fantasy ‘Wicked’ was a SAG favorite, securing nominations for Best Ensemble, Best Female Lead Performance for Cynthia Erivo, Best Female Supporting Performance for Ariana Grande, and Best Male Supporting Performance for Jonathan Bailey.
Other standout nominees include Jamie Lee Curtis for ‘The Last Showgirl’ and Danielle Deadwyler for ‘The Piano Lesson’ for Best Female Supporting Performance, surprising many. Notably, Jeremy Strong landed a nomination for Best Male Supporting Performance, while Sebastian Stan did not receive a nod for his work in ‘The Apprentice’ or ‘A Different Man.’
In the television categories, ‘Shogun’ continued its winning streak with four nominations, along with other series like ‘The Bear,’ ‘The Diplomat,’ and ‘Hacks.’
The 31st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be streamed live globally on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. It’s an exciting time in the world of entertainment, and we can’t wait to see who takes home the coveted trophies.
