Winter Weather Advisory for Tompkins County Until Wednesday Morning
A winter weather advisory has been issued for Tompkins County until Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton. The advisory warns of a lake effect snow pattern bringing 1-3 inches of additional snow to the Ithaca area by 7 am Wednesday.
The eastern part of the county, particularly “downwind of Cayuga Lake,” is expected to see the highest snow accumulations. The advisory area already includes southern Cayuga, Onondaga, Cortland, and Madison Counties.
Drivers should be prepared for slippery road conditions, as the hazardous weather could affect both the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes.
