Netflix and Disney+ Prices Expected to Double by 2035: Streaming Analysis
Streaming entertainment has become a staple in many households, offering a range of options from movie nights to binge-worthy series. However, the cost of these subscriptions is a growing concern. Did you know that one in eight Brits spends over £1,200 annually on streaming services? Recent price increases have even led 45% of users to cancel at least one subscription.
Intrigued by these price hikes, a digital PR agency called Reboot Online analyzed data to predict the future costs of popular streaming services by 2035. This analysis considered factors such as inflation, competition, and evolving consumer preferences.
According to the predictions, the Standard tier with ads on Netflix is expected to double in price over the next decade, totaling £9.99 for limited content with adverts. Despite anticipated growth in profits, the Premium subscription may increase by 44%, soaring to a whopping £25.99. To cover the annual cost of a Netflix subscription from 2025 to 2035, it could take almost two workdays based on the projected rise in the national living wage.
As for other streaming services, Amazon Prime’s monthly cost may climb from £8.99 to £12.99 in the coming years, representing a 44% increase. Disney+ is expected to show the most significant jump, with the Standard with ads package doubling in price to £9.99, while the Standard and Premium packages could rise by 88% (£14.99) and 82% (£19.99), respectively.
Analyzing average pricing changes, Disney+ currently costs 17% more than the estimated market value according to Amphere Analysis. Paramount is also projected to double its Standard with ads subscription to £9.99, with the standard tier rising to £14.99 and the premium tier to £19.99.
After recent controversial pricing adjustments, Apple TV+ subscribers could face an 89% increase, reaching £16.99. NOW is expected to have minimal price changes, though shifts in sports programming could result in fans paying an estimated £47.99 for their subscription by 2025.
While streaming services offer a plethora of entertainment options, it’s essential to consider the potential for rising costs in the future. Keep these predictions in mind as you evaluate your streaming subscription decisions.
