Fubo to Merge with Hulu Live TV, Settles Lawsuit Against Disney
A big news update in the world of streaming entertainment! Fubo, the popular live sports TV streaming platform, is teaming up with Hulu + Live TV, thanks to a recent agreement with Disney. This exciting merger follows a lawsuit that Fubo filed against Disney, Warner Bros, and Fox last year, which has now been settled.
Under this new arrangement, Disney will own around 70% of Fubo, creating a joint venture that will bring together more than 6.2 million subscribers in North America. Despite this partnership, Fubo and Hulu + Live TV will continue to operate as separate services, with Fubo’s existing management team running the show.
But that’s not all – as part of the deal, Fubo will be able to offer a new sports and broadcast service that includes Disney’s popular sports broadcast networks like ABC, ESPN, SECN, ESPN News, and ESPN+. This is great news for sports fans and streaming enthusiasts alike!
In a statement, David Gandler, Fubo’s co-founder and CEO, expressed his excitement about this collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Disney to create a consumer-first streaming company that combines the strengths of the Fubo and Hulu + Live TV brands.” It’s always great to see companies coming together to provide even more options and content for viewers.
