Disney’s Hulu + Live TV and sports streaming service Fubo are teaming up in a deal that also settles a lawsuit regarding Venu Sports. Fubo and Hulu + Live TV let customers stream live TV on various devices like TVs, phones, and tablets. Together, they have 6.2 million North American subscribers. Even after the merger, Fubo and Hulu + Live TV will remain separate services for users to choose from.

Under this new agreement, Disney will have a 70% stake in the combined company, which will carry on as Fubo. The current Fubo management team will stay in charge. Fubo’s CEO, David Gandler, mentioned that this collaboration will give consumers more options and flexibility, as well as boost the company’s financial standing.

Disney has pledged a $145 million term loan to Fubo by 2026, along with a $130 million fee if the deal doesn’t work out. Also, Fubo will create a new sports and broadcast platform featuring Disney’s popular networks like ESPN, ABC, and many others. The legal disputes surrounding Venu Sports, an ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery collaboration, have been resolved, with cash payment from Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery to Fubo.

It’s worth mentioning, shares of Fubotv Inc. have soared since this announcement, showing enthusiasm in the market for this partnership. The future looks bright for this newly combined streaming venture that brings together the best of both Fubo and Hulu + Live TV.
