Disney Hulu + Live TV to Merge with Fubo, Setting Stage for Venu Sports

Disney has announced that it will be merging its Hulu + Live TV business with FuboTV, a move that will pave the way for the launch of its highly anticipated sports streaming service in partnership with Fox Corp and Warner Bros Discovery. This merger effectively creates the second-largest online pay-TV company in North America, trailing behind only YouTube TV. With a combined revenue of approximately $6 billion and 6.2 million subscribers, these services offer a cable TV-like experience over the internet, providing a compelling alternative to traditional cable or satellite TV subscriptions.

Under this new partnership, Disney will become the majority stakeholder with a 70% ownership in the joint Fubo and Hulu + Live venture. This collaboration marks an exciting development in the streaming entertainment landscape and hints at even more innovative offerings for consumers in the future.
