Penguin Series Review: Episodes 3 & 4 – HBO Watch
We’re taking a dive into the dark and gritty world of Gotham in the next couple of episodes of The Penguin series, and wow, the talent in this show is top-notch! Colin Farrell as the Penguin is absolutely killing it. I mean, I’ve been a fan of his ever since Phone Booth, but seeing him really embody this character is something else. And can we talk about Cristin Milioti as Sofia? She’s really shining in these episodes!
Episode #3, titled “Bliss,” starts off with a flashback that gives us a glimpse into Victor’s life before everything went haywire. It’s a heartbreaking scene as we watch the tragic events unfold in Victor’s life. Rhenzy Feliz’s performance in this episode is just phenomenal. The way he portrays Victor’s pain and loss is truly moving.
As we transition to the present, we see a new partnership forming between Victor and Sofia. Their dynamic is awkward and tense, but Milioti really steals the show with her portrayal of Sofia. She’s cunning and manipulative, and you can’t help but be drawn to her character.
Episode #4, “Cennt’anni,” takes us deeper into Sofia’s past and gives us a better understanding of her character. The flashback scenes are riveting, and Milioti’s performance is absolutely captivating. We learn about Sofia’s traumatic past and the challenges she has faced.
The interactions between Sofia and the other characters in Arkham are intense and emotionally charged. Sofia’s anger and determination are palpable, and you can’t help but root for her as she navigates this treacherous world.
Overall, these episodes of The Penguin series are filled with twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. The character development and performances are top-notch, making this a must-watch for fans of the genre. Get ready for a wild ride through the dark underbelly of Gotham!
