The National Women’s Soccer League has just unveiled its plans for the 2025 season, and soccer fans have a lot to look forward to! The excitement kicks off on Friday, March 7 with the NWSL Challenge Cup on Prime Video, featuring a rematch between the Orlando Pride and the Washington Spirit. The regular season starts Friday, March 14 with a balanced 26-match schedule over 25 weeks. The league will take a break to allow players to compete in summer international competitions, but fear not – there will still be plenty of action with NWSL clubs facing off against other professional women’s teams. The playoff rounds are set for November 7-9 and November 14-16, leading up to the 2025 NWSL Championship on November 22.

In its second year of media rights agreements, the NWSL has secured partnerships with several platforms to bring over 120 matches to fans. From Friday night matches on Prime Video to double-headers on ION network and games on CBS, Paramount+, CBS Sports Network, and more, there will be no shortage of ways to catch the action. ESPN will also be airing matches across their platforms and streaming on ESPN+.

Some exciting changes are also in store, with eliminated waiver wires and trade windows, guaranteed player contracts, and a revamped transfer schedule. The primary transfer window opens on January 28 and closes on March 24, followed by the Free Agency period on July 1 and the secondary transfer window opening on the same day. Roster freeze is set for October 9, so mark your calendars and get ready for another thrilling NWSL season!
