Grimm Reboot Film Coming to Peacock – Updates and News

NBC’s popular supernatural police procedural drama Grimm is making its way to the big screen with a movie reboot in development at Peacock. The project, reported exclusively by Deadline, is being written by Drop Dead Diva creator Josh Berman. He is also executive producing alongside the original series’ creative team, including co-creators/executive producers David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, producer Lynn Kouf, Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s Hazy Mills Productions, and Universal Television.

Grimm, which ran for six seasons from 2011 to 2017, follows Portland Homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (played by David Giuntoli) as he discovers his role as a Grimm, a guardian tasked with maintaining the balance between humanity and mythological creatures. The series had an average of 6.4 million U.S. viewers in its first season and was a top-rated scripted series on Fridays. It also inspired tie-in comic books and novels, as well as a spin-off series that never materialized.

While plot details for the Grimm movie remain a mystery, Deadline suggests it will connect to the original series for fans and offer a welcoming entry point for new viewers. If successful, the movie could potentially kick off a new franchise. Stay tuned for more updates on the Grimm movie as they become available.
