The National Women’s Soccer League has just announced the schedule for the 2025 season, and there is a lot to look forward to in the upcoming year! The season kicks off with the NWSL Challenge Cup on Friday, March 7, featuring a showdown between the Orlando Pride and the Washington Spirit. The regular season starts on Friday, March 14 and will include a total of 190 matches, including an eight-team playoff.

One exciting change for the 2025 season is the revised competition format for the summer window. The league will break for summer international competitions, allowing players to represent their countries. During this break, NWSL clubs will have the opportunity to compete in matches against other professional women’s teams, providing continued competition for all NWSL players.

The regular season will wrap up the weekend of October 31-November 2, leading into the 2025 NWSL Playoffs starting on November 7-9. The season will come to an exciting conclusion with the 2025 NWSL Championship on November 22.

In its second year of landmark media deals, the NWSL will have over 120 matches broadcast on various platforms, ensuring fans can catch all the action. Matches will be available on Prime Video, CBS Television Network, Paramount+, ESPN networks, CBS Sports Network, and more. The league is also in negotiations for international distribution of matches.

For the 2025 season, the NWSL has made some updates to the competition calendar, including changes to player contracts, trade windows, and transfer periods. All player contracts are now guaranteed, and trade windows have been eliminated, allowing trades to occur at any time. Preseason camps can begin as early as January 15, with the primary transfer window opening on January 28 and closing on March 24.
