Man injures himself cutting into power line Forest Hill TX

An accident in Forest Hill left a man injured and caused power outages in several homes over the weekend. Fire officials responded to a call about an explosion and burn incident near Independence Lane and Chalmette Court around 3:36 p.m. on Saturday.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a man with severe burns on a large part of his body. He was quickly transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital by a CareFlite medical helicopter for additional care. It’s believed that the man accidentally cut into a power line, although it’s unclear if the line was buried or downed.

Oncor was called to the scene to address the power outages affecting multiple homes in the area. Updates on the situation are pending from Oncor. The incident serves as a reminder to always exercise caution around power lines and electrical equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
