This set has been revealed early by a third-party retailer, giving us a sneak peek at its colorful exterior, minifigures, and easter egg-packed interior.

One interesting feature of this set is the inclusion of a washing machine, which holds a deeper history than you might expect. In the original movie, Lilo hides in the washing machine during a game of hide-and-seek. However, when the movie was edited for Disney+, the washing machine was changed to an empty cabinet with a pizza box in front of it. This change was made to prevent kids from getting any risky ideas about climbing into washing machines.

Despite this change in the Disney+ version, the LEGO Group has decided to stick with the original washing machine design for their set. Rest assured, there won’t be any instructions encouraging builders to put Lilo inside the machine, so the safety concerns are not relevant here. By featuring the washing machine, LEGO is staying true to the version that fans of the original 2002 movie will remember.
