Construction of Golden Gate Bridge Begins on January 5

On this day in history, back in 1933, construction kicked off on the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Can you believe that? It took a few years but the bridge was finally completed in May 1937.

And get this, way back in 1896, a newspaper in Austria broke the news about German physicist Wilhelm Röntgen’s discovery of a new type of radiation, known as X-rays. Pretty fascinating stuff, right?

Fast forward to 1980, where “Rapper’s Delight” by The Sugarhill Gang made history as the first hip-hop song to hit the Billboard Top 40. What a game-changer for the music industry!
