G20 Action Thriller with Viola Davis Premiering on Prime Video on April 10
Viola Davis, an Academy Award winner, is set to star as the President of the United States in Prime Video’s action-thriller, G20. Davis, along with Julius Tennon, doubles as a producer for G20, a film they describe as a high-stakes action flick with a lot of heart.
Directed by Patricia Riggen, G20 follows U.S. President Danielle Sutton, portrayed by Davis, as she navigates the G20 Summit. In the midst of a siege, President Sutton becomes the primary target and must outmaneuver her enemies to safeguard her family, protect her nation, and aid fellow world leaders.
Riggen, speaking about Davis’s role as President Sutton, said, “This is Viola Davis as you’ve never seen her—heroically kicking tons of ass in a global thrill ride.”
The project features an ensemble cast including Anthony Anderson as Derek Sutton, Marsai Martin as Serena Sutton, Ramón Rodríguez as Agent Manny Ruiz, Douglas Hodge as Oliver Everett, Elizabeth Marvel as Joanna Worth, Sabrina Impacciatore as Elena Romano, Christopher Farrar as Demetrius Sutton, and Antony Starr as Rutledge.
Producer Andrew Lazar commented, “It boasts a fantastic ensemble cast and is rooted in the fundamental drive we all have to protect the people and places that matter most to us.”
G20’s screenplay was crafted by Caitlin Parrish, Erica Weiss, Logan Miller, and Noah Miller, with the story credited to Logan Miller and Noah Miller. The movie is a collaborative effort of Amazon MGM Studios, MRC, Mad Chance Productions, and JuVee Productions.
Prime Video is scheduled to premiere G20 on April 10, 2025.
